Currently Serving Survivors Through:

 

Survivor Support

  • Support Group provides safe and confidential space for sharing and validation of survivors’ lived experiences

  • Safety planning, risk assessment, referrals for temporary shelter care, wrap-around services, and other resources for healing and rebuilding

  • employment readiness, job search, financial literacy

Prevention

  • Faith Institutions and Community Organizations DV Awareness & Training Workshops on best practices and creating safe spaces

  • Relationship education and awareness to middle school through college aged students about the effects of teen dating violence, sexual assault, and sex trafficking

Where We're Going

Ishshah’s Place seeks to provide emergency shelter beds for women suffering domestic violence. Shelter beds will be available for women and their children on a temporary basis up to 90 days.

Where We're Going

Transitional housing seeks to provide shelter beds for a period of six to eighteen months in preparation for self-sufficiency and reintegration into community.

What We're Doing

Ishshah’s Place assists survivors

  • In resume writing, job search, and interviewing skills in preparation for gainful employment

  • Refers to community resources for GED preparation and continued educational services as necessary

Ishshah's Place assists communities​

  • Provide education and training workshops to Faith-Based and Community Organizations

  • Sistah Social Support Group where survivors receive validation, encouragement, and solidarity in their journey towards healing  

  • Community resources and exclusive content

  • Referrals are made as appropriate for spiritual counseling and guidance upon request
